Restaurant
The restaurant is Casino's calling card. The mythical and the modern meet here in a location full of contradictions. The 6-metre high concrete columns still contain the traces of fifty years of industrial activity. Bar, lounge and restaurant have blended in, turning functional industrial architecture into atmospheric spaces. Changing decorative styles provide constantly new perspectives. And just as we are preserving the historic ambience of the coalmine we are also providing it with a new character while taking new directions in the area of hospitality and catering.
Food and drink
Holger Bartkowiak is our chef de cuisine. His specialises in New World dishes and his team of creative cooks, experienced old hands and fiery young hotheads are never satisfied. It's their ambition to be trendsetters. Their cooking is based on products which are seasonally available and accordingly follows the cycle which has accompanied us since the beginning of time. Spring - summer – autumn and winter each have their own distinct products which, thanks to the addition of ingredients from all round the world, are turned into new creations. The love of old pitmen's recipes is preserved in new interpretations and new ways of preparation.
Food and drink
Our restaurant manager and sommelier Sami Nofal always has the right recommendation for every occasion. Good wines don't necessarily need to have a prestigious name. What matters is the quality of the products and checking their condition regularly. This applies just as much to our select range of spirits from all over the world.
Our Casino staff regard themselves as your hosts, and go the extra mile to ensure that their guests are always satisfied.
The Casino restaurant is open daily (except Mondays) from 11:30 to 0:00 hrs. Hot meals are available from 12:00 to 14:30 hrs and from 18:00 to 22:30 hrs.
